If Looks Could Kill

It's been a whirlwind of a week. Started at the Tulio Herrera Leon blind/disable school giving and teaching massage to autistic children. Absolutely love it there.

Also these past 2 weeks have been all about our wall. Bob asked me if I would like to paint the wall of a new surf shop and this was the only thing that occupied our minds and extra time. This was how it looked like when we started.

1 hour ago and we finished it.

And now, I have a bus to catch up north to Mancora with Robyn and Mary. From there we will go to Cabo Blanco where Hemmingway famously supposedly wrote Old Man and the Sea, and after that, Punto Sal and Colan. Robyn and I are planning to go on to Ecuador after that but we'll see.

2 weeks!

Meathead

Next week I'll be starting at the blindschool. Not quite sure what my duties will be yet but I hope to stay there for awhile. And before you crack politically incorrect jokes pertaining to the visually impaired, no, I will not be teaching English to the blind.

More money went missing from my room. This time 100 soles.

I had a huge plate of rice and lentils for dinner today, thanks to Rollo who cooked it. He's so posh he says supper.

Bob and I drew the famous Hokasai waves on a wall of the new surf shop around the corner, his design. We actually managed to paint a the base of the mural in just a few hours.

Najin, the operations manager of Otra Cosa, suggested that I apply for the open position of volunteer coordinator. Free housing, pretending to like people, some money on the side...it's not too shabby. Except that I'd have to stay in Huanchaco for 6 months. I sent in my resume anyway. Fingers crosssed! But I don't know what for.

The other night a German guy asked me if I was autistic. The next day, while Mary and I were dying of hangovers, I told her and she said, "....are you sure he didn't say ARTISTIC?"

Dubstep can save your sanity, did you know? Try.
